I was trained in trauma therapy, EMDR, in 2014. I became EMDRIA Certified in 2016 and then an EMDRIA Approved Consultant in 2021. I began my journey in the mental health profession nearly twenty years ago. Before that, I worked for over twenty years in the tech field. My journey in the healing profession started in San Francisco working for community-based programs, engaging families, children, and adolescents in mental health. I’ve worked in a school-based setting, foster care, and county adult services. My approach is integrative. This means that I may use multiple approaches throughout the therapeutic process. Depending on any given moment, issue, or obstacle(s), different techniques are used to move the healing process forward gently, patiently, and safely. Regardless of theory or technique, the client-therapist relation is the foundation of what I do. This process is organically collaborative. I find this therapeutic approach often allows for moving through the process of healing, in most cases faster than with traditional forms for therapy. My therapeutic perspective is not what’s wrong with you, but what happened to you.
